2025 was a watershed year for the Ocean Enterprise Collective (OEC).
In April, we established our non-profit association. In November, we launched Ocean Enterprise v1.0. And throughout the year our membership grew steadily, as did our reputation for delivering innovative, production-ready, next-generation data and AI ecosystem technology.
As we celebrate these milestones and look toward 2026 with anticipation, our goal is clear: scale this success and drive adoption.
Here is a quick recap of 2025 and a preview of what to expect in 2026.
From Concept to Code: Ocean Enterprise v1.0
2025 marked the launch of Ocean Enterprise v1.0 (OEv1.0). This flagship release enables secure, private, and scalable collaboration for next-generation data and AI driven businesses.
OEv1.0 introduces key new features such as Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) for access control and Compute-to-Data (C2D), allowing AI to analyze private data without data ever leaving its secure environment. Furthermore OEv1.0 is cloud-agnostic, ensuring full sovereignty and regulatory compliance.
To ensure market readiness, we completed a smart contract security audit with CertiK and a regulatory review with Dentons. These milestones confirm our platform’s reliability for real-world use.
Drawing on feedback from the v1.0 release, expect a steady cadence of new updates throughout 2026. Future releases will introduce fiat payments, enhanced C2D, and advanced market-level access. By continuously evolving our core technology, the OEC aims to deliver tangible value to businesses while unlocking new opportunities for digital asset monetization.
Beyond the Code
Alongside product development, 2025 was a year of notable market activity and expansion. We transitioned from a technical vision to a recognized participant in the international data space landscape.
Defining the Narrative
In April 2025, we launched the OEC website and social media channels. These established a clear narrative centered on trust, compliance, and innovation. In 2026, we intend to develop this digital home into a vital touchpoint for a community that values data sovereignty and innovative enterprise-ready data space solutions.
Global Outreach and Engagement
Over the course of 2025 we expanded our footprint by participating in over 20 international events across Europe and Asia. By engaging with policymakers, technology experts, and ecosystem builders, we moved into the heart of the global data community. In 2026, we will continue building this presence to strengthen the OEC’s role in decentralized data governance.
Ecosystem Integration: GAIA-X Lighthouse Projects
In 2025 our strategic outreach resulted in several Ocean Enterprise-powered projects becoming recognized GAIA-X Lighthouse Projects. These initiatives lead the way for trusted data exchange in Europe:
- Mobility & Infrastructure: moveID and Pontus-X
- Industry & Engineering: Empower-X, COOPERANTS, and Accurate
- Agriculture & Sustainability: RegenAg-X and AgroAI
These are real-world deployments. They prove our technology is ready for mission-critical use.
Strengthening the Organization
In April 2025, the Ocean Enterprise Collective e.V. was officially registered in Berlin. Our association now unites over 15 member organizations, including technology providers, research institutions, and public bodies.
Throughout the year, our membership evolved with new arrivals and active interest from academia and applied research initiatives. This dynamic growth signals the ongoing potential of the OEC to become a healthy, dynamic ecosystem.
