What is RegenAg-X

RegenAg-X is an advanced Web3 powered Agri-Food Data Space designed and built according to Gaia-X principles aimed at revolutionizing regenerative farming through secure and transparent data sharing. RegenAg-X empowers farmers, researchers, and agri-tech businesses to collaborate and monetize insights while ensuring data ownership remains with its contributors. Moreover, it is closely connected to the Tech4RegenAg project, funded by EIT Food, which supports the development and adoption of innovative digital tools to accelerate regenerative agriculture across Europe.

Tech4RegenAg is an EIT Food flagship project designed to accelerate the adoption of regenerative agriculture across Europe by combining technology, science, and stakeholder collaboration. Through initiatives like the RegenAg-X data space, soil health monitoring, consumer awareness campaigns, living labs, and policy engagement, the project empowers farmers, researchers, startups, and retailers to co-create a more resilient food system that restores ecosystems, enhances biodiversity, mitigates climate change, and delivers healthier, traceable food to consumers.

Use Case

RegenAg-X tackles the fragmented and siloed nature of farm data, which often prevents efficient decision-making and sustainable practices. By leveraging platforms, such as the one in the Azores dairy pilot, milk producers can seamlessly share production metrics, traceability records, and best practices, unlocking new revenue streams and driving industry-wide adoption of regenerative methods. Customers benefit from higher product quality and traceability, while the broader agricultural community gains scalable, data-driven sustainability models.

Ocean Enterprise (OE) was chosen as the backbone for their data space because its native blockchain-ready infrastructure outpaces legacy cloud solutions in security, interoperability, and compliance.

OE’s modular architecture and automated data flows let us onboard new stakeholders in days rather than months. What excites us most is OE’s federated marketplace capability, which transforms farm data into a true economic asset, mention Zertifier representatives.

Looking ahead, RegenAg-X aims to provide deeper AI-driven analytics, expanded sensor integrations, and mobile tools that will bring data-sharing to every farm gate.

What is Empower-X

Empower-X delivers a trusted data-sharing platform, powered by Zertipower, to accelerate Europe’s shift to Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) through real-time renewable energy and smart mobility insights. Zertipower aims to unite municipalities, prosumers, and energy providers in a compliant Gaia-X ecosystem that optimizes energy flows and community engagement.

Use Case

In the DS4PED Rubí pilot, Empower-X addresses the challenge of balancing local energy production and consumption in urban districts. The Empower-X initiative aims to transform the city of Rubí into a Positive Energy District by enabling local renewable energy projects, smart EV charging, energy surplus tokenization, and decentralized data governance so that citizens become active prosumers and the community achieves local energy autonomy with reduced emissions.

By transparently tracking renewable generation, tokenizing surplus energy for peer-to-peer trading, and orchestrating smart EV charging, residents will be able to enjoy lower bills and municipalities can hit climate targets faster. Furthermore, the energy sector gains a replicable blueprint for community-driven, sustainable districts.

Empower-X selected Ocean Enterprise for its proven out-of-the-box Gaia-X compliance, which beat custom builds in speed and reliability.

OE’s end-to-end data governance and decentralized identity tools gave them confidence in security and scalability. We’re most excited about its plug-and-play modules that let them launch new trading schemes for energy tokenization immediately. Next, we’ll roll out additional city pilots, integrate vehicle-to-grid functionality, and introduce advanced demand-response analytics for smarter district management, adds Zertifier team.
